The characterization of diversity in germplasm collections is important to plant breeders for crop improvement and to genebank curators for efficient and effective management of collection. The objective of our study was to describe the phenotypic diversity of the 497accessions of white beans germplasm preserved in the National Plant Gene Bank of Iran (NPGI).For the qualitative characters evaluated, considerable morphological variations were observed for pod position and brilliance of seed. The high variation was detected for metric traits such as number of stem per plant, number of seed per plant and yield per plant respectively, however the lowest diversity was detected for phonological traits. Estimation of correlation coefficients between different pairs of characteristics and stepwise regression revealed that seed number per plant, I OO-seed weight and plant height had the largest effect on variation of seed yield per plant, followed by the plant height. The highest dissimilarity was identified between 38TN334 and 38TNll04 accessions. Based on this analysis 30 accessions number from this collection were selected for advanced evaluation.
