Self-financing and management of the city parks of Thessaloniki for recreational purposes

In this work, and on the basis of a questionnaire, the existing situation in terms of supply and demand for outdoor recreation in the city parks of Thessaloniki is exhibited. The existing recreational facilities as well as the views, suggestions of visitors regarding the management and organization, kind and number of essential recreational facilities, desirable types of vegetation in those city parks are also examined. In addition, the potential for self-financing the development of these city parks for recreation uses is investigated.
