Climate change is now considered one of the most serious social, environmental and economic challenges in the world. Science has proved that the high concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere as a result of human activities causes a temperature increase. The concentration of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2) has increased 70% since 1970. Climatic conditions have become highly variable. The frequency of rain, snow and flooding were significantly increased in northern Europe, while in Southern Europe the volume of precipitation significantly reduced and this often leads to drought. Temperatures have shifted to extreme values. In recent decades, economic losses due to extreme weather events have increased strongly. All this has had an impact on agricultural production, which is facing the challenge of providing answers for a new situation. All agriculture is affected. This paper deals with the problem of climate change in plant and livestock production as well as possible answers to open questions about future directions of agricultural production. We will present adaptation to climate change in the context of agriculture and respect for the environment, which should lead to a minimum effect on food production.
