Objectives of this research were to study effect of working practices in para-rubber plantation, environment and health status. A total of 28 farmer households served as respondents. Results showed that working practices on the rubber plantation directly effected the environment were (1) use of chemical fertilizer resulting changed in soil structure and its fertility, (2) weeding and pest eradication activities effected to the environment including water, soil and air, and harmful impacts to farmers who sprayed chemical herbicides and their health, and (3) rubber tapping operation at night effected farmers health such as body pain and ache. However, rubber farmers mental health appeared to be better than those of other occupations because of their professional pride with the existence of good relationship, caring and sharing among neighbors. Famers live up to hard working, diligence, patience and in line with revered religious beliefs influenced farmers spirit.
