Ability of inhibition of lipid peroxidation of membranes, protection of biopolymers from free radicals and peroxide compounds, regulation of biological systems turns tocopherols into important substances used for the production of food additives and pharmacological preparations. Antioxidant properties of tocopherols are used for the prevention of foodstuffs oxidation, feeds' spoiling and for stabilization of medicinal preparations. Development of effective techniques of quantitative determination of tocopherols appears a serious problem of scientific research. The main goal of the article appears development of reproductive, expressive and selective technology of quantitative determination of tocopherols. Precise and replicable methods of tocopherol extraction and quantification by the means of high-performance liquid chromatography are developed and validated. For developed methods basic analytical characteristics (efficacy of the extraction, repeatability and others) are studied. Content of tocopherols in different plants is evaluated.
