Synthesis of indolyle-3-acetic acid (IAA) by fungi representing divisions Basidiomycota and Ascomycota is investigated and presented in the article. It is found that the selected fungi in the course of fermentation on semisynthetic glucose-peptone medium produce indole, tryptophan, indoleacetamide, 5-OH-IAA, tryptamine. Optimal cultural conditions are defined for active growth of L. edodes and P. ostreatus (biomass yield over 10 g/l) and production of indole compounds: 4,2-7,5 mg/l and 0,49-0,90 mg/g of dry weight, 1,9-5,6 mg/l and 0,16-0,53 mg/g of dry weight accordingly. Maximal concentration of tryptophan and tryptamine in culture liquid of L. edodes and P. ostreatus is recorded during exponential growth phase (by 5 days), indole-3-carboxyaldehyde and IAA amount reached peak values in P. ostreatus by 13 days of fermentation.
