The main operating parameters of agricultural harvesting machines include speed and working width, which determine the performance of the unit, the cost of harvesting, fuel consumption, etc. The problem of choosing of the optimal parameters is often considered as a part of a one-criterion optimization, reducing costs to a minimum. In the conditions of the lack of resources in each case the other goals can be put (reduction of energy consumption, capital and material investments, etc.). Based on the analysis of the above methods of assessment of the effectiveness of harvesting equipment and machines, appears the conclusion that the most appropriate method for assessing the effectiveness of flax harvesting in Belarus is a geometric way. Its essence is that the technical characteristics of similar units define the conditional cost function as the volume of the box. The optimal option is selected by the evaluation function, which is represented by three of the box. The obtained model of evaluation of flax harvesting techniques using technical and economic performance is universal and can be used to select the optimal set of machines in the cultivation and harvesting of other crops.
