Regular weekly observations on the larvae of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) were made on various non cultivated plants in field crops, outside the crops and during off seasons. Data revealed that 24 species of weeds were found to harbour pest larvae. Out of these 13 weeds were suitable for carryover of larvae while 11 aided perpetuation and multiplication. Three species of weeds viz., Datura matel, Physalis minima and Sutera glandulosa were noticed to play an important role in perpetuation of H. armigera. D. matel and P. minima were observed to harbour H. armigera larvae throughout the year, and on S. glandulosa the larvae were found feeding from mid July to November
