This research was conducted to investigate the growth potential and important agronomic characteristics of triticale genotypes under rainfed condition in dryland agricultural research stations of Maragheh, Gamloo and Shirvan during 2009-10. In this research 80 lines in perliminary yield trial (PTYT) in Maragheh and Gamloo evaluated. 30 lines in the international yield trial nursey 41thITYN in RCBD experiment with two replications evaluated in Maragheh and Shirvan. Azar2 and Gaur (promising line of triticale) were checks. Grain yield and main agronomic characteristics influencing yield like early maturity, plant height, thousand kernel weight, seed shrinkage, resistance to diseases and environmental stresses was measured and noted. The most important factors in selection were earlyness and no shirinkage. The result of experiments in Maragheh showed that 40 lines in PTYT and 10 line in ITYN have high yield potential. The best lines of PTYT was No. 42 produced 5620 kg/ha grain yield (69% more than check). In ITYN lines No 10 and 11 produced 25% more grain than check were the superior lines. In Gamloo line No 72 with grain yield of 2222 kg/ha (115% more than check) was the best line. The superior Lines of ITYN nursery in Shirvan were No 6 and 30 that produced 67% more grain than check.
