In order to investigate the response of advanced bread and durum wheat genotypes to sawfly and determining relationship between measured characteristics, an experiment with 43 genotypes (20 bread wheat and 23 durum wheat) was conducted based on randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 4 replications under rain-fed condition at Sararood Research station during two cropping seasons (2009 and 2010). Each plot consisted of 4 rows with 30 cm apart and 4 m lenght. The genotypes were evaluated to resistance test in different stages during each cropping season. The studied traits included stem diameter, stem wall thickness, number of nodes, distance between nodes, number of infected spike, infection percentage, infected and non-infected kernel weight and plant height. The maximum infestation (15%) was observed for genotype HAAMA-3, whereas the least one was obserevd for the genotypes i.e., G1252, EDUYT-47 and EDUYT-54 with 1.5, 2 and 2.5 %, respectively. In conclution, 20 genotypes durum wheat and 1 bread wheat with 1-5 % of infestation were resistant. The results of correlation analysis showed significantly positive correlation between infection percentage and plant height, indicating the genotypes with more plant height are succeptible. Also, significat negative correlation was found between yield and 1000- kernal weight with infection percentage.
