英语. Hypothesis of the doctoral dissertation: the development of social entrepreneurship creates social values and encourages individuals to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Overall aim of the doctoral dissertation: based on the international and national experiences regarding social entrepreneurship, to elaborate social entrepreneurship development scenarios for Latvia as one of the regions of the European Union. The following specific research tasks are set to achieve the aim: (1) to examine the scientific and theoretical background of social entrepreneurship and to identify the functions of social entrepreneurship in an economy; (2) to examine the legal framework of social entrepreneurship in European countries and to produce recommendations on its establishment in Latvia; (3) to analyse the determinant preconditions for social entrepreneurship in Latvia; (4) to elaborate social entrepreneurship development scenarios for Latvia by examining the experiences regarding social entrepreneurship.

Promocijas darba mērķis: izpētot sociālās uzņēmējdarbības starptautisko un nacionālo pieredzi, izstrādāt tās attīstības scenārijus Latvijā kā vienā no Eiropas Savienības reģioniem. Promocijas darba uzdevumi mērķa sasniegšanai: 1) izpētīt sociālās uzņēmējdarbības zinātniski teorētiskās pamatnostādnes un noteikt sociālās uzņēmējdarbības funkcijas ekonomikā; 2) apkopot sociālās uzņēmējdarbības tiesisko regulējumu Eiropas valstīs un noteikt priekšlikumus tās izveidei Latvijā; 3) izanalizēt sociālās uzņēmējdarbības determinējošos nosacījumus Latvijā; 4) izpētot sociālās uzņēmējdarbības pieredzi, izstrādāt sociālās uzņēmējdarbības attīstības scenārijus Latvijā.
