The International Network for Genetic Evaluations of Rice (INGER) which i conducted yearly by International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) for testing the new rice germplasm in many countries. Cultivars and lines introduction and exchange is one of the important ways to enhance genetic variation in these countries and Iran as well. However, since starting these experiments, there are some cultivars and lines are directly introduced to farmers in northern region of Iran. In this research, several INGER sets including International Rice Blast Nursery, International Boro Rice Observational Nursery, International Rice Observational Nursery, International Temperate Rice Observational Nursery, International Hybrid Rice Observational Nursery, International Irrigated Rice Observational Nursery and International Rice Fine grain Aromatic Observational Nursery were evaluated in Guilan and Mazandaran provinces in 1999-2003. During growth stages important traits such as, Plant height, Tiller number, Panicle length, Number of grains (filled, unfilled and total) per panicle, Grain length, Grain width, Grain shape, 1000-grain weight, Panicle weight, Flag leaf area, Day to 50% flowering, Day to maturity, Amylose content, Gelatinization temperature and gel consistency and grain yield were measured. Out of the 789 lines received from IRRI in the observational, yield comparison and adaptability experiments during 2001-2003, Line no. 216 line was selected as the top loine and evaluated for the qualitative and quantitative characteristics. Results indicated that the yield performance of this line in plant spacing 25×25 cm and 90 kg ha-1 N fertilizer was the highest.
