increasing soil and water resources losses in watershed areas in recent decades due to non-principled exploitation of resources has become increasingly intense. It also has provided regress basin and increasing sediment production rates , reduce the useful of reservoirs, dams, and reduced production losses and National funds. This research was conducted in the safarood watershed. Following the investigation a number of factors and zonation. The purpose of this research investigation to determine potential flood regions To use its results in hydrological modeling, simulation and optimization methods of flood control in watersheds. Methods In this study is at first, information layer factors such as slope, lithology, aspect, land use, vegetation and rainfall were prepared in geographic information systems. In the after phase was done weighting factors and their classes. Finally, was done flood Potential of the basin. Results from this study showed that about 72/0% of the area is very low, 60/19 in the low zone, 57/39 in the medium zone, 36/26% of the catchment area of the high area and 74/13 percent in the area very high flood potential. On the other hand,The results showed that Javaherdeh watershed 84/63 percent of its area in the very high zone has the greatest flood potential and latmohaleh and seemrood have the lowest flood potential.
