Effects if ascorbic and vitamin D interaction on the performances, bone characteristics and immunity of broilers at commercial contions

The experiment evaluated the efficacy of supplemental ascorbic acid (0 vs 200 ppm) on the performance of broilers fed two vitamin D (VD) levels (200 IU vs 1900 IU). On farm trial was conducted for 3 weeks with the Ross broilers with a 2x2 factorial design. The week-wise performance data showed significantly (P0.001) higher weight gain in the chicks fed supplemental ascorbic acid at 200 ppm when compared with the non-supplemented group, except during second week.
