This study analyzed the effectiveness of DA-PhilRice's Give Me Five! Rice Project in Palawan. The specific objectives were to: 1) describe the Give Me Five! Rice Project in Palawan and the phases of its project life; 2) assess the effectiveness of the project based on its expected outputs and outcome; and 3) identify factors that contributed/hindered its effectiveness. Descriptive analysis in the form of frequency counts and percentages to present and describe data from primary and secondary sources were used. Primary data were collected from key informants from various institutions of PhilRice, SIKAP/STRIVE [Samahang Ititataguyod and Kakayahang Angkin sa Pag-Unlad/Society Toward Reinforcine Inherent Viability for Enrichment], Inc. and MLGUs [Municipal Local Government Units]. Secondary data utilized reports, documents, and draft terminal reports to present review principal information on the project. Furthermore, rudimentary comparative analysis was used to determine effectiveness of the project based on expected outputs and purpose. Based on the results of the study, the Give Me Five! Rice Project in Palawan can be evaluated as very effective despite constraints faced by the project stakeholders. Furthermore, the study's recommendations formulated were: 1) improve the Give Me Five! Rice Project and similar existing and future projects using the Project Cycle Management approach; 2) devise measures for sustainability; 3) clarity administrative functions through review of MOA [Memorandum of Agreement]; and 4) future studies on comparative research on CRDES [Collaborative Research, Development and Extension Services] and Give Me Five! Rice Project of PhilRice and a study on the project's efficiency must be done.
