A prototype vacuum operated, four-wheel tractor drawn planter was fabricated to suit local conditions of manufacture and crop production practices. In developing the seed meter, it was tested with yellow corn, soybean, white bean, peanut and super sweet corn. Basic requirements in constructing and operating the planter were tested. The planter was fitted with accessories for furrowing and fertilizing, and it was field tested for corn seeding.
