Laboratory evaluation of the residual efficacy of 2010/N-1768 against the worker caste of household ants: Solenopsis geminata (fire ant), Paratrechina longicornis (Crazy ant) and Tapinoma melanocephalum (ghost ant)

Magsino, E.A. | Alzona, F.
The residual efficacy of 2010/N-1768 at dilution rates of 2.1 and 4.2 ml/L water was determined against the worker caste of household ants, Solenopsis geminata (fire ant), Paratrechina longicornis (crazy ant), and Tapenoma melanocephalum (ghost ant). In most of the evaluation schedules, 2010/N-1768 both at dilution rates of 2.1 and 4.2 ml/L water outperformed the commercial standards in terms of rate of knockdown and percentage mortality. Its efficacy, however, like those of the commercial standards, depends on the type of surface to which it is applied and the behavior of the ants among others.
