Preliminary evaluation and comparison of seed yield on new Sunflower ( Helianthus annuus L.) Hybrids in Zarghan.

Seventy eight sunflower hybrids derived from crosses between new CMS and : restorers in 2002 plus Azargol hybrid, Armaviresky and Zaria O.P.cultivars as : control varieties, 81 treatments, were evaluated in Zarghan station in 2003. ¬ Experimental design was a Simpel Lattice with two replications. Each plot consisted of four rows with 5.5 m lenght. Rows spacing was 60 cm and plants were 2Scm apart on rows. Morphological and agronomical traits were recorded during growing season. Yield and 1000 kernel weight measuerd after harvesting. Seed sampels for detennination of oil perecentage were sent to chemical laboratory in Seed and. Plant Improvement Institue. Harvest area was 6 m2 from two middle lines of each plot. Data analyses and mean comparisons were made. The most suitable hybrids were selected for future experiments. Result showed that CMS 19*R-28-N CMS130*R-23-N , CMSI052/1'" R-22-N and CMSI052* R-28-N, hybrids had the h~ighest yield with 4875,4770,4729 and 4667 kglha ,respectivly
