Temperate rice lines were preliminary evaluated under 13th International rice temperate observational nursery (IRTON-2011) which has been sent to Rice Research Institute of Iran in Rasht and Amol. The genotypes were included 35 non-replicated lines and 3 international check varieties of PSB Rc2, IR72 and IR50 and 2 local checks. The local checks in Amol were Tarom mahali and Shiroodi and in Rasht were Hashemi and Khazar. The genotypes were planted in a seedbed and then were transplanted in the main field under augmented experiment of randomized complete block design in five replications. The morphological characteristics and yield of the genotypes were evaluated according to the IRRI handbook. Two genotypes from Amol and 3 from Rasht as well as the check variety of PSB Rc2 did not enter seed setting phase and were eliminated from the analysis. Some other traits such as resistance or susceptibility to rice pest and diseases were evaluated in amol. According to the results, the lines number 1, 8, 9, 10, 14 and 16 were selected based on the tolerance to stem borer and several important diseases. The selected genotypes can be used as a genetic resources in breeding programs. Furthermore, some other genotypes with at least 2 weeks earlier in flowering than Tarom mahali can also be considered as a good genetic source for early-maturity breeding programs. In Rasht, however, the selectedd lines were number 1, 6, 14 and 24 which performed a better agronomical indexes and the yield. Taken together, the genotypes number 1 (2000061-TR 2084-2-1-1) and 14 (IR 83222-F11-167) were common selected lines in both regions of Amol and Rasht which can be used in futhure programs.
