Evaluation of quantitative and qualitative characters of clones of resulted from true potato seed progenies.

In order to study, possibilites of True Potato Seeds using for achieving suitable hybrids with better Agricultural characters, marketable yields and adaptability with climate conditions in Ardabil region. This study was conducted in Ardabil Agriculture Research Station for three years (2001-2003). Two hundred clones produced from True Potato Seed progenies were planted in 8 blocks with 25 clones in each block on the basis of preliminary yield trial (Augmented Design), in 2001. In each block, six commercial cultivars Agria, Marfona, Novita, Draga, Ajax and Aula were used as the checks. During growth period, The number of days after planting to tuberization and flowering 50%, foliage cover rate, main stem number and diameter, plant height, tuber number and weight per plant, tuber number and weight less than 35mm, between 35- 55mm and bigger than 55mm, resistance against to important disease, appearance, total and marketable tuber yield, eye depth, length of stolon, evenness of tubers, dry matter percent, colour of skin and flesh, colour of flower, hollow heart, internal rust, secondary growth, cracking and knobbiness were measured. Resulted data for check were analyzed on the basis of Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) and data for clones were corrected by using cultivars (check). One hundred higth yield clones and suitable of quantitative and qualitative characters were selected. In 2002, the selected clones were evaluated and 20 clones among them were chosen. Finally five clones with higth yield and good quality, were selected as advanced clones which will be study in view point of adaptability and stability parameters in different regions.
