In this research two growth chamber experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of false-hosts on Orobanche aegyptiaca germination. In the first experiment effects of live plants and in the second experiment effects of plant residuals evaluated. Vicia villosa, Lycopersicom esculentum, Helianthus annus, Gossypium herbaceum, Vigna radiata, Glycine max, Medicago sativa, Triticum aestivum, Hordeum vulgare and Secale cereale used in these experiments. In all the pots there were O. aegyptiaca seeds. In the first experiment plants planted near L. esculentum and in the second experiment plants residual mix with the soil. Results showed that M. sativa when planted near L. esculentum induced 76% reduction in the O. aegyptiaca seeds germination. G. herbaceum in both experiments reduced O. aegyptiaca seeds germination compare to control. Plant residuals of all plants especially V. villosa and G. max could not reduce the number of O. aegyptiaca seeds germination, but they reduced the rate of growth O. aegyptiaca. Key words: Orobanche aegyptiaca, germination, growth chamber, trap crop.
