Each year a lot of money is spent to irrigate green spaces in Mashhad. Moreover, the precipitation is out of irrigation needs and without storage, caused flooding and damage. If a part of precipitation, are harvested and stored with rainwater harvesting systems (rooftops and paved surfaces such as streets etc.), it can prepare a part of the water required for urban green space irrigation. In this project, a pilot has been done for investigation the possibility of harvesting, storage and use of rain water green space irrigation. this project, have been done at building No. 2 of Agriculture and natural resources research center of Khorasan Razavi. For storage of rainwater, an underground reservoir is constructed which runoff is directed into it with gravity force. Water is using by pump. Because of the water collected from asphalt surfaces (streets and parking) is transferred to storage tanks, Carrying particles from the surface of the pavement to the tank, may cause flow Turbidity or changes in stored water quality over time. Thus, in this project, the amount of suspended solids and solids carried into the tank and water quality changes over time have been investigated. The method is based on sampling of each rainfall and runoff before and after entering the reservoir tank. Sampling has been done in the different months of the year. The results of laboratory analysis showed that EC is about 399 ( s/cm), TDS is less than 500 (mg/l) and SAR is about 1.21. With this result the water quality is suitable for irrigation.
