Insurance for agricultural products in each country is essential for certainity of growers. Basic provision for insurance of agricultural crops such as citrus is accurate estimation of crop at registration time of insurance treaty. Crop load of each tree is determined by plant variety, environmental conditions and management activities in orchard, so in this proposal protocol we considered these three factors. For achieve to this goal, we proposed a practical protocol as a national project in North and South of Iran with common varieties for each citrus growing provinces. In this research, every orchards categorized in one of the three groups including Good, Moderate and Bad, according to horticultural management. Afterwards, a method for determining of natural abscission for reproductive organs in each management level of orchards was proposed. So we could determine the final fruit number of each tree by counting of flowers and fruitlets in a part of canopy and calculate yield for each tree and for each unit of area of grove as a valuable scientific method for insurance companies. To determine the effects of irrigation management on yield of citrus trees, annual used water and frequency of irrigations were selected by observing and questionnaire. The yeild of 10 trees per hectare was measured. Citrus cultivated areas of Iran were categorized into six regions based on water requirement of citrus (WR). The range of WR was determined in all regions. Therefore, drought index of Deciles was introduced. Regarding to WR and soil texture, required irrigations frequency was estimated for the regions. Yeild reduction percent resulting from water deficiency was determined based on the data resulted from this study and other related researchs. This study was also carried out with respect to effects of soil nutrients on citrus production in citrus growing areas and methods for introduction of deficiency and yield estimating were presented. In relation to the estimation of pests, diseases and weeds damage on citrus and environment factors under insurance coverage in different provinces were studied. This paper presents methods for introduction and assessment of any causal damages. Key words: citrus, insurance, production potential, yield, irrigation, pest, diseases, weeds, damage
