Effect of different levels of metabolizable energy in native hens performance of Khorasan station in different production stages.

This experiment was concucted to evaluate the effects of different levels of dietary metabolizable energy(DME) on performance native hens of khorasan province. A total 300 native hens of Khorasan station was used in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments , 5 replicates and 10 hens in each replicate of age 26 to 50 weeks. Six experimental diets based on corn, soybean and wheat contain different levels of DME, including of 2400, 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800 and 2900 kcal per Kg diets. The results showed that different levels of DME did not show any effect on egg weight in 26-50 weeks. DME was significant effect on the egg production, so that the highest egg production and egg mass was observed in the diet 2700 DME in total period. Egg production(about 4%) reduced at the lowest level of DME (2400) in 26-50 weeks, and this difference was more significant in the middle week of experiment. DME reduction leads to a significant increased (P0.05) feed intake, so that the lowest and highest DME level difference of about 35 grams per day on feed intake. The best FCR was observed in the group receiving 2800 DME (P0.05). Effect of DME levels on egg quality traits showed that high DME diets significantly was reduced the percentage of egg white and increase yolk weight. Overall, the results of this experiment showed that 2700 DME is improving the rate of egg production in native hens. The best feed conversion ratio was observed at 2800 DME.
