Golden Sel B, Prima, Skyline Supreme, Yellow Spur, Auwill Spur, Mor Spur, Goldjon, Ed Gould Golden, Amasya, All Red Jonathan and Jonagold were selected as the materials among a series of apples which have been determined as standard culti-vars at Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute, since 1964 under the "Apple Vareity Trials" project. The selected 11 cultivars were evaluated by determining their soluble solids con-tent, pH, total acid(as malic acid), fructose, glucose, sucrose, total sugar, sugar acid ration and Hunter Lab. for production of suitable apple juice.

Çalışmada Atatürk Bahçe Kültürleri Merkez Araştırma Enstitüsü‟nde 1964 yılın-da başlayan ve devam eden "Yerli ve Yabancı Elma Çeşitlerinin Seçimi" Projesi kapsamında belirlenen standart elma çeşitlerinden Golden Sel B, Prima, Skyline Supreme, Yellow Spur, Auwill Spur, Mor Spur, Goldjon, Ed Gould Golden, Amasya, All Red Jonathan, Jonagold çeşitleri ele alınmıştır. Bu çeşitlerde suda çözünür kuru madde, meyve suyu randımanı, pH, malik asit cinsinden toplam asit, fruktoz, glikoz, sakkaroz, şeker asit oranı, Hunter Lab. değerlerine bakılmış ve seçilen sekiz elma çeşidi aynı zamanda Bursa- Gıda Kontrol ve Merkez Araştırma Enstitüsü‟ne gönderilerek elma suyuna işlenmiş, elde edilen sonuçlara göre elma suyuna uygun elma çeşitleri belirlenmiĢtir.
