Production efficiency of agricultural enterprises requires creation of the necessary conditions for the workers in the labor process and in the process of reproduction of the labor force. This problem is called upon to perform units and services of social infrastructure. One of the most important tasks of the modern village is the restoration and development of its social infrastructure. The crisis in the social sector of the Belarusian village has begun to take shape since the mid-80s, when the lower level of the quality of life in rural areas contributed to the formation of migration attitudes of rural residents, reducing the level of their economic interest. In order to overcome the negative trends in the village in the Republic of Belarus has been developed and implemented the State Program of Rural Development for 2005-2010. The article considers the state of social infrastructure of rural areas in the Republic of Belarus and allocates the perspectives of its improvement. The main characteristics of living standards of rural population such as housing stock, social infrastructure, education quality, accomplishment of living and recreational areas are analyzed; the most important perspectives of the development of social and living infrastructure of rural areas are enumerated.
