Synthesis and field testing of synthetic attractants of the spruce seed moth (Cydia strobiella L.) is presented in the article. The obtained compounds are the alcohols and their acetates: cis-dodec-8-en-1-ol (1) (Z8-C12:OH), cis-dodec-8-en-1-yl acetate (2) (Z8-12:OAc), trans-dodec-8-en-1-ol (3) (E8-12:OH), trans-dodec-8-en-1-yl acetate (4) (E8-12:OAc). Cis-acetate (2) and cis-alcohol (1) are synthesized in 3 and 4 stages respectively, with the overall yield of 44% and the diastereometric purity 8Z=94%. Trans-acetate (4) and trans-alcohol (3) are synthesized in 3 and 4 stages respectively, with an overall yield of 52% and diastereometric purity 8E=92%. Field tests have stablished that compounds E8-12: OAc and Z8-12: OAc demonstrate the attractive activity. The greatest number of Cydia strobiella species is caught in a trap with an attractant E8-12 OAc in a concentration of 100 mg/dispenser. Compounds E8-12: OAc may be used both in a prognosis of the peak fly activity of insects for the determination of the exact time for protective measures, and in monitoring of number of Cydia strobiella species.
