To select and detennine more tolerant variety and lines of barley toward drought stress, this experiment was conducted baseJon previous years results of researches. in 2004-5 cropping season, with 7 new elite barley line M-82-1, M-82-4, M-82-5, M-82-9, M-82-11, M-82-21 and M80-9, in comparison with karon*kavir as control, in a non-saline soil with EC=2 ds.m-I and 3 replicates in each ,within 25m2 plots. Irrigation cut at beginning of spike stage. Some important triars events such as flowering date, plant high , kernel weight number of grain in each head , length of spike and yield of grain and straw were recorded during the experiment . the results of experiment showed that there was no significant difference between lines and control in grain yield, 1000- kernel weight nomber of grain in each head and length of head . It is suggested that the lines number M-82-1 and M-82-9 carry out in Research- expending design . Length of spike and harvesting index of the line number M-82-4 had the highest amount and as well as the line number M-82-11 was in higher statistic class.
