拉脱维亚语. Promocijas darba hipotēze: mūžizglītība Latvijā ir institucionalizēts zināšanu tirgus, kura specifiku nosaka Latvijas reģionu ekonomiskās attīstības stadija. Saskaņā ar izvirzīto hipotēzi promocijas darba mērķis ir izpētīt mūžizglītības kā institucionalizētā zināšanu tirgus pazīmes un tā specifiku Latvijā. Promocijas darbā atbilstoši mērķim noteikti šādi uzdevumi: 1) izanalizēt mūžizglītības kā ekonomiskās parādības teorētiskos un metodoloģiskos aspektus, pilnveidot mūžizglītības definīciju ekonomikas zinātnes skatījumā; 2) izpētīt mūžizglītības tirgus un institucionālos aspektus ES un Latvijā; 3) raksturot mūžizglītības specifiku un izstrādāt mūžizglītības attīstības līmeņa novērtējuma kritērijus Latvijā. Pētījuma objekts – mūžizglītība, pētījuma priekšmets – mūžizglītības ekonomiskie (tirgus un institucionālie) aspekti Latvijā.

The hypothesis of the dissertation: lifelong education in Latvia is an institutionalised knowledge market, the specifics of which are determined by the stage of economic development of Latvia’s regions. In accordance with the hypothesis, the research aim is to examine the features of lifelong education as an institutionalised knowledge market and its specifics in Latvia. Based on research aim, the following research tasks were set: 1) to analyse the theoretical and methodological aspects of lifelong education as an economic phenomenon and to improve the definition of lifelong education from the perspective of economic science; 2) to examine the market and institutional aspects of lifelong education in the EU and in Latvia; 3) to describe the specifics of lifelong education and to develop criteria for assessing the development level of lifelong education in Latvia. The research object is lifelong education, while the research subject is the economic (market and institutional) aspects of lifelong education in Latvia.
