Humus is an important soil component that determines its main qualities and peculiarities. Humus content defines the taxonomic level within soil systematics at the genus level. The results of the analysis of the recent analytical data allow implementation of the quantitative index system for evaluation of the humification degree for the upper units and their separation at the genus level.
