Slovenian pure-bred pig populations were reduced in the last years significantly for the traditional breeds, while the native Krskopolje pig breed (KP) has increased, however due to the size it is still endangered. In small populations, the risk of mating between related animals is increased and thereby increasing of inbreeding and consequently losing of genetic variability. Genetic connectedness
