Determination of yield and some yield components of maize (Zea mays L.) cultivars sown at different planting times | Farklý ekim zamanlarýnda yetiþtirilen mýsýr (Zea mays L.) çeþitlerinde verim ve verimle ilgili bazý özelliklerin belirlenmesi

Bu araþtýrma, Alaþehir koþullarýnda mýsýr ana ürün yetiþme periyodunda, dört ticari melez mýsýr çeþidinde, farklý ekim zamanýnýn verim ve verimle iliþkili bazý özelliklere etkilerini belirlemek amacýyla yürütülmüþtür. 2003 ve 2004 yýllarý ana ürün yetiþtirme döneminde, bölünmüþ parseller deneme desenine göre dört tekerrürlü yürütülen bu çalýþmada, dört ekim zamaný (5 Mayýs, 20 Mayýs, 5 Haziran, 20 Haziran) ana parselleri, dört mýsýr çeþidi (Maverick, C-955, Otello ve Giubileo) alt parselleri oluþturmuþtur. Çalýþma sonucunda en yüksek tane verimi 20 Mayýs ekim tarihinde, C-955 çeþidinden alýnmýþtýr.

The objectives of this study were to determine the effects of different planting time on grain yield and yieldrelated traits of four commercial maize hybrids grown within corn growing periods in Alaþehir ecological conditions.The study was conducted in the years 2003 and 2004. The experimental design was split plot arrangement in randomized complete block with four replications. Planting time (5 May, 20 May, 5 June, 20 June) was the main plot treatments; four hybrids (Maverick, C-955, Otello and Giubileo) were the subplot treatments. From the study, it was concluded that the hybrid C-955 which gave the highest grain yield should be planted around 20 May.
