Along with this, high concentrations of CO2 suppress the photosynthesis of higher plants, but the mechanisms of inhibiting action of high carbon dioxide concentrations are not determined nowadays. Therefore, the main goal of the research presented in the article appears evaluation of the mechanisms of suppressing action of high content of carbon dioxide on activity of photosystem2. Therefore, the influence of elevated concentration of CO2 on the characteristics of the induction curves of chlorophyll fluorescence of barley leaves, subjected to the effect of carbonic anhydrase and enzymes of Calvin cycle has been researched. It has been shown that the effect of suppression of chlorophyll fluorescence during increase of carbon dioxide concentration doesn’t associates with Calvin cycle functioning change or carbon anhydrase content. Inhibition of carbonic anhydrase and Calvin cycle in barley leaves has been shown to not influence the chlorophyll fluorescence quenching slowdown due to sharp rising of carbon dioxide content in atmosphere.
