西班牙语; 卡斯蒂利亚语. The interdependence among rectal digestibility of DM, organic matter and N and performance traits was examined in 16 Cuban Creole x CC21 castrated male and female pigs. The animals were fattened ad libitum (25 _ 90 kg) with diets based on sugar cane final molasses and ground royal palm (Roystonea regia H.B.K. Cook) nuts as the only energy source. Crude fat in diets was between 1.0 and 12.2% whereas ash was between 10.3 and 14.3% respectively. Those pigs having a higher feed consumption were of greater feed conversion (r, 0.820; P0.01) and showed a higher DM and organic matter digestibility (r, 0.641 and 0.711; P0.05 in both cases). This association was not visible (P0.05) considering daily gain and rectal digestibility of N. In fact, there was neither significant (P0.05) daily gain nor N digestibility correlation with any other measured index. It was noted that pigs having heavier GIT showed higher fresh digesta content and lower DM and organic matter digestibility (P0.05). In pigs fed sugar cane molasses and royal palm nuts, feed consumption was inversely related to GIT and digesta relative weight, in a significant manner (P0.01). It is suggested that in tropical conditions of fattening crossbred pigs from the Cuban Creole genotype which have a higher DM consumption, they may express a higher feed conversion and at the same time a higher DM and organic digestion is done, when sugar cane molasses and royal palm nut are used as the only source o energy.

英语. Se examinó la a interdependencia entre la digestibilidad rectal de MS, materia orgánica y N, y rasgos de comportamiento de 15 cerdos Criollo Cubano x CC21, hembras y machos castrados. Los animales fueron cebados ad libitum (25 _ 90 kg) con dietas basadas en miel final de caña de azúcar y palmiche (Roystonea regia H.B.K. Cook) como las únicas fuentes de energía. La grasa cruda de las dietas estuvo entre 1.0 y 12.2% mientras que la ceniza estuve entre 10.3 y 14.3%, respectivamente. Aquellos cerdos que tenían un mayor consumo de alimento tuvieron una mayor conversión alimentaria (r, 0.820; P0.01) y mostraron una digestibilidad mayor de MS y materia orgánica (r, 0.642 y 0.722; P0.05 en ambos casos). Esta asociación no fue visible (P0.05) al considerar la ganancia diaria y la digestibilidad del N. De hecho, no hubo ninguna correlación de la ganancia diaria y la digestibilidad del N con ningún otro de los índices medidos. Se notó que los cerdos que poseían TGI más pesados mostraron un mayor contenido de digesta fresca y menor digestibilidad de MS y materia orgánica (P0.05). En los cerdos alimentados con melaza de caña de azúcar y palmiche, el consumo de alimento estuvo inversamente relacionado con el peso relativo del TGI y de la digesta, de una manera significativa (P0.01)Se sugiere que en condiciones tropicales de engorde de cerdos híbridos del genotipo Criollo Cubano, que tienen un mayor consumo de MS, pueden expresar una mayor conversión alimentaria y al mismo tiempo una digestión más alta de MS y materia orgánica, cuando se utilizan melaza de caña de azúcar y palmiche como las únicas fuentes de energía.
