Sources of agronomic characters in spring barley collection
2014
Poznyak,E.I.
In a course of the research there was studied a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare) collection. The research was realized in the Republic of Belarus in 2011-2013 on a moderately cultivated sod-podzolic sandy loam soil. As a result of realized research the following collection barley samples were isolated and proposed as potential sources of high agronomic characters and brewing qualities of grain: with the yield of the level of standard Mahutny (56-70 q/ha), short-stalked (up to 70 cm), with high thousand-kernel weight (50-57 g), with resistance to net blotch and powdery mildew (score 9-8), with protein content not more than 11.5%. The duration of the interphase periods of samples of spring barley (average for 2011-2013) was presented. Characteristics of collection samples of spring barley yield, plant height, resistance to disease and lodging (average for 2011-2013) were shown.
