The vulnerability of export agriculture
2013
Daviron B.
Exports of agricultural products still play a key role in many countries, but they have been relegated by the rise of the extractive sector at the continental level. While the composition of exports has changed little, with the exception of growth in fruit and vegetable exports. Africa's market share has stagnated and is now significant for only a few categories of products - a situation that generates vulnerability due to price volatility. New demand, particularly for food products, nevertheless provides prospects for growth. (Résumé d'auteur)
