In this paper, the authors analyzed basic postulates of knowledgebased economy. They especially point out to a significance of intellectual capital in making added value. Thereby give a definition and a classification of it. Significant attention they pay to a place of agrarian, rural and regional in economic development theory. They introduce a concept New Economic Geography, which is commonly accepted in the world literature. That concept comprises North-South relations, as well as Centre-Periphery relations. At the end they point out to a low coefficient of the intellectual capital utilization in agriculture of Vojvodina.
