The main objective of this paper is to familiarize wider scientific and professional circles with the concept, scope and outcomes of ongoing research that focuses on the potential impact of climate change on water resources in Serbia. Namely, the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development commissioned a project (TR 37005) titled “Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Water Resources in Serbia”, as part of its 2011-2015 Technology Development Research Program. Jaroslav Černi Institute for the Development of Water Resources (JCI) is the project coordinator. Apart from JCI, other participating organizations include the University of Belgrade-Faculties of Civil Engineering, Agriculture, Mining and Geology, and the University of Niš-Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The project manager is Prof. Dr. Stevan Prohaska, scientific advisor at JCI. About 50 domestic and international researchers are involved in the project. The beneficiaries are the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, and the Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
