Structure of mangrove forest in Long Dai river dowstream, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh provice

Mangroves in Long Dai river estuary are occuping an area of 66.472 hectares, distributing at the outfall and high intertidal z0ne, in salinity rank from 1.1% to 13.1%o, tidal amplitude from 0.1 m to 0.6 m. The study conducted in 2013 to document natural distribution of mangroves in Long Dai river estuary and to analyse mangrove forest structure to recommend solutions in sustainable mangroves forest management. Fire species composition structures with 30 species of 22 families were identified. Some 2-3 canopy layers were recorded in mangroves in study site. Species compositions are distributed differently along stream and river banks. Sonneratia caseolaris was recorded as dominant species of mangrove forest in Long Dai river estuary.
