Effects of nitrogen fertilizer levels to quality and yield of Panicummaximum cv hamil, Brachiria mulato2 and using for white horse from 7 to 12 months in Thai Nguyen

The research was conducted in Thai Nguyen. It has 2 research studies. Study 1 had done to evaluate the effects of different levels of nitrogen fertilizer (0, 30, 50 kg N/ha/harvesting time) to yield and quality of two grass species P. hamil, B. mulato2. Study 2 had conducted to evaluate the effects of two grass species to acquire the ability and growth of the White horse from 7 to 12 months old. The results from study 1 showed that the growth rate of two grass species for green matter yield and nutritive value decreases with the fertilizer level. P. hamil grass with nitrogen level at 50 kg N/ha/harvesting time had highest. 3 harvesting times had green matter yield reached 42.06 tons/ha with P. hamil grass. Dry matter yield reached 9.18 ton/ha and total protein yield reached 0.89 tons/ha. B. mulato grass also had best yield with fertilizer level at 50 kg N/ha/harvesting times. 3 harvesting times yield reached 53.40 tons of green matter. Dry mailer yield reached 9.33 tons/ha. Protein yield reached 1.03 tons/ha. Results from study 2 show that: White horse like eating B. mulato 2 grass than P.hamil grass. The average total feed consumption (P. hamill grass) of White horse is 15.78 kg/head/day. The average total feed consumption of B.mulato 2 grass was only 78.85% less than P. hamill grass. P.hamill used for horse had higher body weight gain than horses fed with B.mulato 2. Feed consumption (total fresh grass)/kg body weight gain ranged from 37.78 kg to 42.77 kg fresh grass/kg of weight gain.
