Calcium nitrate induced modulation of physico-chemical attributes of canola (Brassica campestris L.) under salt stress
2016
Sajjad, M.
A pot experiment was conducted to determine the calcium nitrate induced modulation of physiochemical attributes of canola (Brassica campestris L). Two varieties of canola Faisal canola and Anmol Raya were used in this experiment. Seeds were sown in pots containing 10kg soil. Two levels of calcium nitrate (0, 20 mM) and two levels of sodium chloride (0, 50 mM) were applied at the time of sowing. After germination of seeds, Data for various parameters like growth (shoot length, root length, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, leaf area number of leaf) physiological, morphological, biochemical, gas exchange, yield attributes (number of seeds, size of pods, number of pods), chlorophyll contents will be determined during the experiment. The pots will be arranged in completely randomized design (CRD) with three replicates. The data will be analyzed statistically by using appropriate complete package. From the above experimental results it is estimated that Anmol perform better than other varieties i.e. Faisal. Faisal showed least development.
