Dracaena reflexa "Song of India" is a member of Asparagaceae family. It is mostly used as indoor plant. Its irregular shape make it best choice for informal landscape. Present study was conducted to evaluate the impact of different growing media for the production of quality Song of India (Dracaena reflexa) plants. For this purpose silt, leaf manure, farm yard manure and coconut coir in six different combinations i.e. Silt + Coconut mix (1:1) , Silt + FYM (1:1), Silt + Leaf manure (1:1), Silt + leaf manure + coconut coir (1:1:1), Silt + leaf manure + FYM (1:1:1), Silt + leaf manure + coconut coir + FYM (1:1:1:1) with only silt as control were used in pots to see their effect on growth and development parameters. Chemical properties of all growing media including organic matter, EC, pH, N, P and K were also determined. Plants performed best regarding mortality percentage, leaf chlorophyll contents (17.34 SPAD), fresh weight of shoot (13.017 g) and root (6.67 g), and root length (22.750 cm) in Silt + Farm Yard manure. On the other hand, Plant height (18.607 cm), plant leaf area (13.331 cm2), spread of plant (14.695 cm), number of leaves per plant (13.557) and dry weight of shoot (5.342 g) and root (1.83 g) were more in silt + leaf manure + coco coir. It is therefore opined that T2 (silt + FYM) and T4 (Silt + leaf manure + coco coir) proved more effective for the quality production of D. reflexa and have potential to exploited for further research purpose.
