the content of heavy metals in soils and plants of Artemisia dracunculus L. is studied in the area of development of polymetallic ore deposits in the Bashkir Trans-Urals. As a result of the research, high concentrations of gross and, especially, mobile forms of heavy metals in overburden rocks of the studied dumps were revealed. The soils of the Sibay quarry are characterized by a high content of Cu, Zn, Fe, and Cd. At high concentrations in the soil, Cu, Zn and Ni accumulate in the organs of A. dracunculus L. mainly in the roots, Cd also in the leaves, which confirms the foliar pathway of this chemical element entering the plants. The obtained data testify to the effectiveness of using A. dracunculus L. for phytorectivation of dumps.
