in the practice of forestry it is not always possible to make the inventory of the felled tree. For example, this cannot be done when inventory of specially protected natural territories (SPNT), where each individual tree cannot be cut down and after measured. Consequently, the measurement diameter of the tree trunk at a height of 1.3 meters or more, which is usually done on a felled model tree in forest cultures, protected areas, national parks, nature reserves impossible and requires application of the technique of measurement of the growing tree. The article presents the results of measurements of diameters of trees (on the example of pine - Pínus sylvestris) in the new author's method, based on the materials of terrestrial digital photography. The testing was conducted in pine plantations of Minino forestry in Krasnoyarsk region. Form-factors, as well as the old species are determined. The obtained results allow to recommend this method for remote determination of the diameter of the trunk at different heights of the measured tree, for use in forest taxation, in particular in the areas where felling trees is prohibited.
