The review provides an overview of current literature data and author's own studies on convenient and accessible chemiluminescent and electrochemical methods for determining the antioxidant activity of natural compounds, food products, beverages, berries, vegetables and fruits, herbs, food fibers, essential oils of spicy plants, etc. The obtained data serve as the basis for rational application of various natural compounds for the purpose of protecting biological systems in general and food products in particular from free radical oxidation processes.
