Traditional citrus growers of western and central Africa and nursery related aspects
1999
Rey, Jean-Yves
In western and central Africa, citrus crop ranks immediately second after bananas, among fruit productions. There is a wide range of climatic conditions, i.e. from dry Sahelian to rain forest situations. Specific cultivars for both rootstocks and varieties are developed according to these conditions. Elite planting material originated from SRA Corsica is being largely distributed in this area. The African leaf and fruit spot disease, as well as severe strains of tristeza and greening are among the major phytosanitary problems. (Résumé d'auteur)
