This paper presents the results of a study of the optimization of the water distribution network in the city of Užice (Serbia), with particular focus on the water tanks within the system. A methodological approach is presented which includes the assessment of the present condition, distribution system modeling, model calibration, analyses of alternative solutions and defining of priority actions. Recommendations regarding water tank operation, together with other measures are provided and elaborated. Keywords:
