On unification of descriptive nomenclature of inflorescence morphology for breeding of legumes | К унификации описательной терминологии в селекции бобовых. Соцветие

英语. One of approaches in plant breeding is introduction of different morphological mutations in a genotype of cultivated forms. The resulting phenotypic polymorphism among crops often goes far beyond the existing range of variation observed in wild-growing plants. This is also actual for a with many of its members being the important crops of Russia and worldwide. Different sets of terms are used for different crops thus complicating the comprehension. The existing situation also confuses a transfer of data obtained by breeders to other fields, such as developmental genetics or botany. It is proposed to unify the nomenclature used in the description of inflorescences in legume family (Fabaceae), to make the terms understandable for specialists in the different related fields: breeding of other crops, botanists, geneticists. Three basic types of synflorescence structure in cultivated legumes should be distinguished. This classification approach is based on the features of floral unit, i.e. the flower-bearing structure which terminates the main stem and paracladia. In legume crops of Russia, three types of floral unit can be listed, viz. simple (Galega, Lupinus), double (Pisum, Vicia) or triple (Phaseolus, Vigna) raceme. As floral unit comprises a minimum of flowering, the proposed concept requires a minimum order of branching for distinguishing between types. Oppositely, maximum order of branching can be observed only under certain growing conditions and hence is weakly informative. We use the proposed set of terms to describe few more complicated cases (fasciation, paniculate inflorescences, production of serial buds, determinate growth type). We also provide a possible algorithm of inflorescence description in legumes. This algorithm is based on assignment of the 1st order to the main stem and defining which order flowers have with respect to this stem. At the next stage, a floral unit, and its possible features including cover leaves are determined and described. Numeric characters should be considered as additional only. It is recommended to use visual axial schemes for synflorescence describing.

俄语. В работе предложено унифицировать номенклатуру, используемую при описании соцветий у представителей сем. Бобовые, с тем, чтобы термины были понятны специалистам по селекции разных культур, ботаникам, генетикам. Следует выделить три основных типа строения синфлоресценций у культурных Бобовых (подсемейство Мотыльковых). В основу классификации положено строение флоральной единицы – цветоносной структуры, завершающей главный побег и паракладии. У бобовых культур России выделено три типа строения флоральной единицы – простая (Galega, Lupinus), двойная (Pisum, Vicia) или тройная (Phaseolus, Vigna) кисть. Использование представления о флоральной единице позволяет ориентироваться на минимальный порядок ветвления, в то время как максимальный порядок цветоносных побегов достижим лишь при определенных условиях и потому может быть недостаточно информативным. В предлагаемых терминах описаны некоторые более сложные случаи – фасциация, метелковидные соцветия, образование сериальных почек, детерминантный тип роста. Приведен возможный алгоритм описания соцветий у Бобовых. Он основан на том, что главный побег считается побегом I порядка, а далее устанавливается, какой порядок имеют цветки по отношению к главному побегу. Далее определяется и описывается флоральная единица и ее возможные особенности, включая кроющие листья. Количественные признаки следует считать дополнительными. При описании синфлоресценций рекомендуется использовать наглядные осевые схемы.
