Use of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) in biofuel production by fermentation technology is constantly increasing because of it has high sugar content. Sweet sorghum is a crop that can be used to supply the energy demand of Turkey due to it can grow in both dried and irrigated conditions. This study was conducted to determine the effect of harvest time on biomass and syrup yields of two sweet sorghum varieties in Çanakkale conditions. This study was carried out according to the split plot design with three replications, where the main plot and sub-plots were varieties (PHS 12-10 and Samsun local) and harvest time, respectively. The highest green and dry herbage yield were obtained from PHS12-10 variety. Also, it was observed that green herbage yield, dry herbage yield and sugar ratio increased depending on the delay of harvest time.Consequently, PHS 12-10 variety can be used for production of dry forage and syrup in Çanakkale irrigated conditions, practically the most suitable harvesting time is full maturation period for syrup production.
