Proceedings of the scientific-practical conference covers the latest researches of Latvian agricultural scientists in the field of crop cultivation, horticulture and animal husbandry. The articles in the field of agriculture cover the cultivation of winter rape, wheat, barley and oat varieties, their fertilization, disease development and weed spread, as well as the prevalence of potato bark diseases, the effectiveness of sapropel concentrate and vermicompost on tuber yield. The raw material for grazing ryegrass and perennial grass dryness have been evaluated. In the horticulture section, the authors describe research into the cultivation and care of tomatoes, carrots, beets, sweet cherries, strawberries and raspberries. The production of grape varieties originating in Latvia in the Nordic countries is described. The animal husbandry section outlines the research on the feeding of cattle and calves. The article presents an evaluation of the Latvian Brown and Blue breed cows, Latvian dark-headed sheep and horses included in the Agricultural Gene Bank, as well as the polymorphism of prion protein gene in goats produced in Latvia.
